Crystal Jade (2007-02-16)

We were eating so often inside Harbour City in Tsimshatsui we might as well call it our cafeteria.  Crystal Jade is a Shanghai restaurant there which has very good review.  KL, his brother and I ate there one night and we had some of their signature dishes and some typical Shanghai snacks.

Without reservation, we were lucky to have to wait only a short while before our table was ready.  We were even luckier to have scored a booth right next to a small window that gave us an ocean view.  Tables were packed pretty tightly together and almost all of them were occupied.  Service was attentive and our glasses were refilled constantly.

We loved all the dishes we ordered except the Red Bean Paste Pancakes whose skin was crispy enough but a bit thick.  The red bean filling was uber smooth and creamy though and it was not overly sweet which was very yummy.  KL and his brother shared an order of glutinous balls with sesame filling and I was told they were delicious.

You can click the photo to see what we had that night.  It was overall a very reasonably priced meal with excellent quality.  Crystal Jade deserves many return visits.
