Japanese sweets and grape jam
The indiviual packet conceals an egg-shape marshmallow which is cloyingly sweet
The filling which is made of beans and sugar is even sweeter than the shell, making the whole thing sickeningly sweet
Grape jam on toast
I used the grape jam to make a sauce with balsamic vinegar, shallot and chicken stock. This western style sweet and sour sauce is refreshing and more-ish and goes well with pork chops
