Homemade Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies (2006-12-30)
Ingredients for the cookies. I only use olive oil in all my cooking so I had to buy a whole bottle of canola oil to make the cookies. I'll need to find new recipes to use up the oil
Recipe says to cream 1/4 cup butter with 1/4 cup castor sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. I only had light brown sugar in the house so I used that
Creaming after a minute
It didn't get to be creamy at all after 10 minutes
I thought I'd just move on to the next step which is to add 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla and 1/4 cup canola oil
Wow, the liquid turns the stiff batter into instant creamy goo!
Then the recipe says to whisk together 1/2 cup whole wheat pastry flour (what the heck is that??), 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 1/4 cup cocoa powder and 1/4 tsp salt. My supermarket only carries whole wheat flour anyway, and that's what I got
So I whisked
Next step is to dump the flour mixture into the creamy goo
Mixing mixing
Next comes the 1/3 cup each of milk and dark chocolate chips. I had to improvise this step too cause I only had dark chocolate bars at home, therefore no milk chocolate and not in chip form. I chopped my own "chips"
The last step is to add 1/3 cup chopped walnuts but I forgot to get on my ingredient-shopping trip. So I had to totally miss this step
I dumped half of the batter onto silicon/parchment paper
Rolled it into a log and ziploc bagged it to freeze for baking at another time
The recipe says to drop tablespoonfuls onto a baking sheet and bake them at 350F for 12 minutes. Looks like I got 10 goobs out of the batter
Fresh out of the oven! The apartment did smell nice from these cookies
Our afternoon tea
Melting chocolate...yummmm
