Really FUN Gifts (2009-03-28)

All the posts and pictures of our trip to Osaka/Kyoto are finally finished!  But before they begin tomorrow, I need to put this one up to thank my hairdresser, Kaminiwa-san, for giving me presents.

Although it is not unusual for customers to bring souvenirs after going on a trip to their hairdressers (like I do sometimes), it is highly unusual for the reverse to happen.  And she didn't even go on a trip!  On my last visit, Kaminiwa-san handed me a bag when she saw me off on the street after my hair's done.  Wow, I was really surprised!

The gifts included a bag of jasmine tea "flowers" (because she knows my favorite Chinese tea is jasmine) and a pearl/necklace set.  I can only use one word to describe them: FUN.  The tea which shapes like a flower bud opens into a flower with varies petals and stuff.  Watching it bloom is so entertaining!

The other gift is something I've seen on TV in Sydney many years ago.  I'd always wanted to try "playing " with it, but buying a set myself is out of the question as KL'd kill me if I did.  Who knew 15 years later, I really could get my hands on one, woohoo!

My pearl turns out to be white which signifies "wisdom".  Somehow I don't feel I'm a particularly wise person, but I do feel I have a very nice hairdresser.

本当にありがとうございます、神庭さん!   m(_  _)m
