Salt And Pepper Ribs (2006-09-08)

A Cantonese dish called "Salt and Pepper Ribs" is very popular in authentic Chinese restaurants.  Incidentally one can order Salt and Pepper Prawns, Salt and Pepper Squid and Salt and Pepper Tofu etc.

I was trying to make the same dish using short ribs and although the result isn't identical to what one would get in a restaurant, it's pretty darned close.  The ribs were DEE--LISH!

How I made mine:
Pan-fry or deep-fry short ribs till cooked.  Set aside.  Stirfry chopped garlic and chilies, add ribs, splash some wine, and when evaporated, sprinkle Pak'n Save's (a supermarket chain in Hong Kong) Spice Salt (You can use other brand I suppose but the result won't be as good, I'm sorry).  That's all there is to it!
