Ume Udon (2006-10-17)
My neighbor gave me two packets/servings of ume udon which she brought from her home town after going back for a visit on the weekend. The udon is a pretty pink color because of the ume (preserved plums) used in the manufacturing process.I cooked the udon as per instruction. We ate them cold like a
salad dunking mouthfuls of noodles in the dipping sauce which came with
them. KL said he could discern a faint plum flavor in the noodles
while I couldn't taste the slightest hint of fruity perfume at
all. But I still enjoyed the udon, it is one of my favorite kind
of noodles afterall.
