Euro 2004 Finals (2004-07-04)
Well my prediction for the two teams in this year's Euro2004 has gone down the drain with England losing to Portugal earlier and now Czech Republic beaten by Greece. If only I had tipped the opponent teams in both matches to be playing in the finals I would have been right! Nevertheless the final match turns out to be more interesting than I expected. Greece and Portugal will be going head to head again, just like they have in the opening match of the tournament. It's deja vu in soccer. Odd.
This time Portugal might not be so easy to give the match
away. They have the upper hand of being the host country and I'm
sure the spirit of the team and their fellow countrymen is sky high
right now. Greece's victory on the other hand will help boost the
Olympics in Athens, they'll be fighting like mad in the field.
Anyway it will be the first time for either team to take home the Euro
Cup, so it's always a good thing. It's no fun when a player or a
team dominates a sport all the time, underdogs deserve the glory too.
