Fireworks Are Fun (2004-07-27)
In summer Japanese like to light fireworks in their yards or on the streets at night. I heard the crackling of fireworks two nights in a row last week and remembered we still had some fireworks at home left over from last year. So I dug them out and lit them outside our apartment. The firework sticks looked like joss sticks wrapped in colorful paper. There is a picture of it in this link.
You can imagine the fun we had by looking at today's pictures.
The noise and light from the fireworks drew two kids from the
neighborhood to watch the flaring spectacularity. The fun didn't
last long though, each stick burned out in a matter of seconds.
We need to get bigger firework sticks next time, we simply have to make
the fun last longer.
