Corningware (2014-09-06)
I used to own an entire set of cornflower blue Corningware in Sydney, it's one of my prized possessions. The set contained so many pieces I didn't have a chance to use them all.I was looking at some Corningware pictures the other day and was
shocked to find that Corningware had stopped making the stovetop
ware yaers ago. In fact the company was sold to World Kitchen
years
ago who nowadays makes those thinner version
that's only oven-safe. What a damn shame.
I was fortunate to stumble upon a set (yes, just one single set of
that pattern in the entire Japan) of vintage Corningware! I know
Corningware comes in
a myriad of patterns, but the chicken one is the only one I wanted and
I think it's the CUTEST.
Corningware made in the very early days are actually of better
quality than the ones made in the latter days due to the materials
used.
I am very happy I now own a piece of history, a real piece of
history.
