Blue Lotus Thai Cuisine (2008-12-15)

Phew!  After three weeks' of Singapore travelog, you must be eager to come back to "all things Japan".  Let me start by posting a restaurant we went to before our trip.

I like Thai food except their green curries which due to some strange malfunction in my brain matter reminds me of SOAP and DETERGENT.  KL on the other hand pretty much likes everything a Thai restaurant has to offer.

Blue Lotus is the last restaurant amongst a string of restaurants in Takashimaya (kanji) department store that we said we would try.  All three chefs in the semi-open kitchen are Thai people, so there's a good chance their food is authentic (and hopefully good).

Menu is not that big with mostly set meals.  KL got the Green Curry Set with all-you-can eat Thai fragrant rice while I wanted something totally non-spicy, so I ordered the Noodle Set.  I had maybe like 1/8 teaspoon of his curry sauce which didn't taste too SOAPY but hot!  My noodles were a winner.  The broth was seasoned well and the rice noodles cooked just right.  Bean sprouts and peanuts added that beautiful crunch to the soft noodles and pork.

I would totally want to return and try the appetizers and the salad that I saw some other customers order.

P.S.: If you want to waste some time, check out a few videos about Singapore KL just uploaded, click here and here.
